Character posters for the creatures Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah have been unveiled for Godzilla: King of The Monsters, the third title in Legendary Studio’s connected MonsterVerse and sequel to Gareth Edwards’ 2014 movie Godzilla.
The movie will see Godzilla take on multiple Kaiju, including three of his most famous enemies: Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. These three have been confirmed for the movie, but its second trailer seems to suggest that there might be two other monsters popping up as well.
During the trailer, at about 0:46 a creature with almost crab-like claws breaks through the ground at an oil field. With its large claws and hard shell, some have suggested that this could be Kumonga, a giant spider-like creature with legs that curve into stabbing points. Later, around the 0:58 mark, something can be seen emerging from underneath a mountain with houses at its foot. It’s not entirely clear, but the titan appears to have some sort of shell with trees growing upon it. Perhaps this could be Anguiris?
It seems like the film is going to be packed with action and characters, much like Batman Vs Superman was. Hopefully Godzilla: King of The Monsters will be received better if this turns out to be true. The movie is due to be released May 31st 2019.
